WHAT ELSE MIGHT YOU NEED TO KNOW

 

Do we need to bring our own bed linen and towels?

No, linens are provided and beds are fully made up and ready for your arrival. Extra blankets are provided. One bath towel per person is provided and bathrooms are provided with hand towels. Tea towels, an oven glove and a hand towel are provided for the kitchen. Two unisex towelling robes, 2 bath towels and 2 pairs of flip flops are also provided for the hot tub.

Where can we buy food?

The nearest supermarket is in Porthmadog or you can pre-order shopping online for delivery by Tescos. Organic food deliveries are available from Graig Farm.

Key cooking essentials such as salt, pepper, oil, tea, coffee and sugar are already provided. Dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and laundry liquid are also already provided. These are all eco friendly, as are the cleaning products we use. 

Do we need to buy logs for the stoves?

We have a limited supply of firewood that is available to guests to use. There are instructions on how to use the stoves and fuel most efficiently so wood is not burnt too quickly.

Can I use the internet? 

Yes, there's wifi internet via a satellite connection. You're welcome to use this for web browsing and email. Please don't stream music or videos or download big files such as maps as this will exceed our data allowance and result in a loss of connection or extra charges. 

Will my mobile phone work?

It's very unlikely you'll have any mobile phone signal at the cottage. There is a landline that you can use to call out in an emergency. 

What can we do on a rainy day?

See the family attractions page, which lists a number of indoor activities if you are not feeling like venturing outdoors. There are also a number of films available as well as board games. CD players, an iPod dock, a TV, video and DVD player are in the cottage.

Do you have equipment for babies?

We can provide a travel cot and high chair if you let us know in advance. An audio baby monitor is also available. There are also plug in night lights for the bedrooms and corridor.

Where can we do washing?

A washing machine is located in the kitchen in the cottage, with a rota-dryer in the orchard garden.

Is there somewhere we can dry wet clothes?

There's a drying rack that can be put up near one of the stoves. 

How big is the hot tub in the orchard house?

The hot tub can accommodate 2-3 people.

What are the arrival and departure times? 

Unless otherwise agreed you can arrive anytime from 4.00 pm on the day of arrival and need to leave by 10.00 am on the day of departure to give us time to get everything clean and ready for the next guests. 

Can we bring our dog?

Sorry, pets are no longer allowed.

Can we have an open fire?

Yes, there is fire pit area next to the stream and cabin. Please take a bucket with you to ensure the fire is fully extinguished.
